Thanks for taking the time to visit. This site is something I put together so I can always refer back to issues I have tackled and also to potentially help others with the same struggles. Please bear in mind that I have compiled these pieces over four years so it may seem a little unordered!

What is the STA?

The Scottish Tech Army, is an IT charity that builds applications and creates IT solutions for a range of charitable causes and not just in Scotland. Projects at the STA are managed to industry standard, all teams having a professional hierarchy of stakeholders including but not limited to project managers, Scrum masters, Product owners, security specialists, UX/UI designers, and of course software developers. The pool of specialisms goes on and once aquatinted to the charity these sources are invited to act on varying projects. Often volunteers are working on multiple projects concurrently.

As the Scottish Tech Army, have done for myself, the charity excels at investing in individuals, providing the chance to develop themselves within their preferred role even if they haven't had any industry experience, as many have not. Relying on the commitment and honesty of strangers in order to benefit those who truly commit is truly a selfless act. Of course this is all closely managed which means industry standard production grade applications are created for the benefit of those who really need the assistance. The STA is a sanctity of the best type of people of which I am proud and feel grateful to be able to associate with.
